Federico is a biochemist with a Ph.D. in Crop Sciences from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Federico joined Bioceres immediately out of school, in 2005, originally as a research leader for one of its R&D projects. He then helped develop and run Bioceres’ biotech center INDEAR, a cutting-edge technology incubator. In 2011, he became the first formal CEO of Bioceres.
Today, Bioceres is an ag-biotech leader in the Latin America region, operating as a business platform across multiple technology segments, with one of its companies listed on the Nasdaq Stock Market (NASDAQ: BIOX).
In 2018, Federico was recognized with the Konex Award for Business Innovation, one of Argentina’s most prestigious leadership awards, for the period 2008-2018. He also received the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Argentina in 2019. Federico has also been chairman of the Argentine Chamber of Biotechnology since 2019. In 2022, Bioceres promoted SF500, the investment fund that seeks to transform ideas into science-based startups to improve people's lives. Their goal is to increase the number of biotech companies in the regional life sciences ecosystem through funding, resources, human connections and learning programs.
