Christina Forbes

Dr. Christina Forbes is the lead scientist in electrochemistry research at the Phoenix-based company ElectraTect. She earned her PhD at the University of Delaware in 2016, where she studied organic synthesis and the structure of biological molecules. During her postdoctoral work at Arizona State University, she studied bio-inspired electrocatalysis for energy conversion, while managing the laboratory and safety responsibilities for the group. She joined the ElectraTect team in 2021, overseeing the chemistry efforts in development of a fuel-cell-based sensor for a marijuana breathalyzer. Christina endeavors to practice science communication with the general public through several non-profit organizations, including the American Chemical Society, realtimeSTEAM, and the Arizona Museum of Natural History Foundation.
