Simone Fishburn, PhD

Simone serves as Editor in Chief at BioCentury, with responsibility for content creation and analysis, research and data across BioCentury’s intelligence platform. She drives coverage of innovation across the ecosystem, the emergence of new trends and the growth of hubs, and moderates panels globally on key topics for the biopharma industry. Simone also is co-host of The BioCentury Show and a regular on the weekly BioCentury This Week podcast. Prior to joining BioCentury in 2013, she held roles in industry and academia, as director of translational research at Nektar Therapeutics, a senior managing consultant at Exponent Inc., and a research scientist at the Weizmann Institute of Science. She is an active advocate for women in leadership, and was on the board of Women in Bio from 2013-20. Simone performed a post-doc at the University of California San Francisco in molecular and cellular pharmacology. She holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Pharmacology from the Weizmann Institute of Science, and an M.A. and B.A. in Pharmacology from Cambridge University. Simone is a Fulbright scholar.
