Paula Soteropoulos is an industry veteran with 30+ years of experience in strategic and operational leadership, venture creation and company building. She currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Ensoma, where she initially was founding Executive Chairman, and she is a venture partner at 5AM Ventures. Paula also serves on the board of directors of Dianthus, Rallybio and uniQure. She served as founding CEO and Director of Akcea Therapeutics, taking the company public through its IPO, building operations in 13 countries and commercially launching 2 rare disease drugs. Before Akcea, she was SVP and General Manager of Cardiometabolic and Rare Disease Businesses and Strategic Alliances at Moderna and spent more than 20 years at Genzyme with her last role there as VP and General Manager, Cardiovascular, Rare Diseases. Paula currently also serves on the Advisory Boards for Chiesi Rare Disease, Kyowa Kirin North America and the Tufts University Chemical and Biological Engineering Department. She is in active mentor and coach for Women in Bio Boardroom-ready program and the Termeer Foundation for next-generation entrepreneurs.
