Silas Buchanan is the Founding CEO of the Institute for eHealth Equity. He is an experienced underserved-community outreach and engagement strategist with expertise in crafting web-based ecosystems that solve for known, underserved-community outreach and engagement failure points. He recently launched OurHealthyCommunity.com and OurHealthMinistry.com, in partnership with Morehouse School of Medicine, to authentically engage and improve health equity in underserved communities.
Silas has founded, led and/or contributed to numerous faith and community-based health improvement initiatives and previously co-developed AMECHealth.org as the official health information-sharing channel for the AME Church, the largest mainline, historically Black Denomination in the world (2000 congregations/2 million members).
Silas also leads partnership development for his organization with healthcare payer, provider, government, pharmaceutical and academic stakeholders. He has contributed thought leadership to Milken Institute, FasterCures Workgroup on DEI in Clinical Trials, the American Telemedicine Workgroup on Eliminating Health Disparities, the Personalized Medicine Coalition Health Equity Task Force, and the Digital Medicine Society Data Steering Committee. Silas has also worked collaboratively with HIMSS, Accenture, National Academies of Medicine, and many other healthcare industry stakeholders.
