Audrey Escobedo-Escotto, MD, MPH

VICE PRESIDENT, CLINICAL RESEARCH, EMERSON CLINICAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE
Dr. Escobedo-Escotto holds a medical degree with a minor in Surgery from Guatemala, she received a master’s degree in public health from the Milken Institute at George Washington University. She has dedicated her last 10 years to the conduct and oversight of clinical research in the most underserved communities of the Washington D.C metro area. Her proficiency in English, French and Spanish has allowed her to gain the trust of the community she serves.

She joined ECRI in 2013, where she has been working hard to increase diversity in clinical trials. Currently she is the Vice President for Emerson Clinical Research Institute, ensuring the studies brought to ECRI demonstrate a benefit to all communities.

She has been able to develop her passionate interest in working with patients whose needs are unmet by the public and private and her main interest has always been to improve health access to minorities. As a result of this interest she worked to establish and now the co-founder of Emerson Community Clinic, which provides low cost care to patients regardless of financial or legal status.

She is co-hosts of the TV show “Tu Salud Tu Familia” on Telemundo network and received her fourth Emmy for Outstanding Health and Science program special.

Dr. Escobedo-Escotto was recognized as one of the 40 Under 40 Leaders in Minority Health by the National Minority Quality Forum’s. She received the award for her accomplishments in the Healthcare field and her potential to continue positively impacting minority communities in the DMV area. Lastly, she received recognition from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala as an outstanding healthcare provider abroad in January 2024.
