Gary Madsen, PhD

Dr. Madsen received his Masters and PhD from Creighton University (Omaha, NE) before joining Abbott Labs (Abbott Park, IL). After 17 years in product support, product development and business development, he moved on to be VP of R&D at IDEXX (Westbrook, ME). Four years later, Dr. Madsen moved back to the Midwest as Chief Technical Officer for EraGen Biosciences (Madison, WI). His work there was followed by employment at Promega, Third Wave, and Gilson, (all Madison, WI). In 2012, Dr. Madsen joined UNeMed, the tech transfer office of UNMC (Omaha, NE) as entrepreneur in residence. In 2013 Dr. Madsen co-founded ProTransit Nanotherapy and has led the company as President and CEO since its founding. Dr. Madsen has extensive experience in all aspects of biotech product development, launch, technical support, business development, licensing, negotiations and patenting.
