Michael Kokesh, JD

Mr. Kokesh is the founder of ViCardia Therapeutics and serves as its CEO. Mr Kokesh has been an executive officer, founder, or co-founder of four successful, institutional venture capital financed medical technology and life sciences companies. Mr. Kokesh’s work experience includes serving as the CEO of the Ischemia Research and Education Foundation, a leading cardiovascular institute based in San Francisco. While at IREF, Mr. Kokesh, as CEO, worked closely with Dr. Herskowitz, and was instrumental in coordinating the EPI-2 epidemiology study in cardiac bypass surgery. The database of more than 7,000 patients worldwide led to the publication of more than 40 research papers that were published in leading academic medical journals such as JAMA, NEJM and JACC advancing medical and scientific knowledge.
Michael holds a B.A./B.S. (Molecular Biology, Political Science, and English Literature) from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Juris Doctor from the UC – San Francisco. CA Bar.
