BIO Announces Elanco’s Justin Chesnut to Deliver Keynote at Livestock Biotech Summit

Washington, D.C. (September 12, 2012) – The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) announced today Justin Chesnut, Director of the Poultry Business Unit for Elanco Animal Health, will deliver the opening keynote address at the BIO Livestock Biotech Summit this September. This unique conference, focused on developing global solutions through animal biotechnology, will include workshops on the latest applications and benefits of genetically engineered animals for animal health, welfare, human health and food production.

Chesnut will deliver his keynote address on Using Technology to Feed the World on Wednesday, September 19, 10:15am CDT. Chesnut will speak to the importance of using science innovations to feed a growing worldwide population and why the work of those in agriculture biotechnology is so important for the future.    

“Justin’s opening keynote is a welcome addition to the Summit as we begin our conversations on using technology to create solutions for global food and health security,” said David Edwards, director of Animal Biotechnology at BIO. “Elanco’s vision that through new technology and innovative approaches to animal health, we can enrich life is a principle the ag biotech has embraced as it plays a key role in helping to meet the challenges of healing, fueling and feeding a projected 9 billion people on earth by 2050.”
