Adequate Agency Funding is Critical to Cutting-Edge Biotechnology Advancement

Adequate funding for key government agencies such as the Patent and Trademark Office (PTO), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is inextricably linked to sustained advancement in cutting edge biotechnologies. Funding of these agencies is necessary for continued research and development of life-saving therapeutics, as well as for capital formation for the biotechnology industry. Potential investors need to know that biotech products will receive a timely and high quality review. Without this assurance investors would be reluctant to invest and research and development could be hampered.
