BIO CEO & Investor Conference Now Available Online

WASHINGTON, D.C. (December 6, 2007) -- The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) today announced the opening of media registration for the BIO CEO & Investor Conference 2008.  Now in its tenth year, the BIO CEO & Investor Conference 2008 is the largest independent investor conference focused on biotechnology. The conference provides a forum for public and private investors, research analysts, investment bankers and senior-level industry executives to discuss investment trends, conduct company presentations and one-on-one meetings, and learn about investment opportunities within the biotechnology industry.

The annual investor conference for the life sciences industry will take place Feb. 11-13, 2008 at the Waldorf=Astoria Hotel in New York City.  The conference will feature therapeutic panel discussions and roundtable discussions on business trends designed to address issues relevant for investors.

“The quality and number of companies that participate, as well as the strength of the sessions that focus on new developments in important therapeutic areas make BIO’s CEO & Investor Conference a ‘can’t miss’ event for investors and leading companies in the life sciences industry,”  said Jim Greenwood, president and CEO of BIO.  “Our Conference provides leading investors with myriad opportunities to meet with senior management of biotechnology companies to learn about existing and emerging opportunities in all aspects of biotechnology.”

This year’s conference will feature corporate presentations from more than 200 hundred companies (approximately 80% public, 20% late-stage private), 10 workshops featuring leading experts on specific therapeutic and technology topics, six roundtable sessions, and plenary sessions on timely business issues and industry trends, many opportunities to schedule one-on-one meetings, as well as numerous networking opportunities. The conference is designed to foster an informative dialogue between institutional investors and senior biotechnology executives about emerging and current investment opportunities.

“The biotech industry continues to innovate and grow, developing new therapeutics to the market that will improve the lives of many,” stated Greenwood.  “The CEO & Investor Conference will help investors identify the latest trends and provide biotech innovators an opportunity to secure the funding necessary to bring their therapeutics to market.”
