BIO Names Kathy Stover as New Communications Director

WASHINGTON, D.C. (December 16, 2002) − Kathy Stover is the new director of communications for the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) effective today. In the position, Stover will handle all media inquiries concerning biotechnology issues in healthcare and those with industrial and environmental applications.

Prior to joining BIO, Stover was a senior managing editor at Thompson Publishing Group Inc. in Washington, D.C., where she was responsible for several publications related to activities of the Food and Drug Administration and the National Institutes of Health, including the FDA Advertising and Promotion Manual, the Guide to Good Clinical Practice and the Guide to Medical Device Regulation.

BIO represents more than 1,000 biotechnology companies, academic institutions, state biotechnology centers and related organizations in all 50 U.S. states and 33 other nations. BIO members are involved in the research and development of healthcare, agricultural, industrial and environmental biotechnology products.
