FDA Draft Guidance for Industry: Recommendations for Early Food Safety Evaluation of New Non-Pesticidal Proteins Produced by New Plant Varieties Intended for Food Use
FDA published a Federal Register notice (Docket no. 2004D-0369) that provides draft guidelines for early food safety evalutions of new non-pesticidal proteins. The draft guidance describes procedures for submitting an early food safety evaluation of such proteins to the agency. The open comment period, which closed Jan. 24, allowed for the submission of comments on the draft guidance from the public as a whole.
