Our distinguished speaker panel with companies such as NKT Holding, UCB Group, Genmab, H. Lundbeck, Boston University, Plougmann & Vingtoft and Zacco Sweden will guide you from the early stage freedom to operate search to set up an FTO strategy to collaborate and make licensing deals with partners and competitors.

Email: professionalinstitute@mit.edu
Website: http://web.mit.edu/mitpep/pi/courses/downstream_processing.html
Description: Continuing discoveries in molecular biology and genetics provide the foundation for new and improved processes and products in today's biochemical process industry. The production of therapeutic proteins, which is made possible by new discoveries in biotechnology, generated sales exceeding $30 billion in 2004. In addition, biotechnology has led to marked improvement and expansion in the traditional biochemical process industry for production of enzymes, diagnostics, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and foods. Continued introduction of new technology necessitates innovation in process development scale-up and design. As a consequence, there is the need to design new, as well as to improve, existing processes. An integral and cost intensive part of these processes is associated with downstream processing for product isolation and purification.

The purpose of this symposium is to consider and critique new hypotheses for sporadic neurodegeneration.

This program facilitates the full engagement of junior investigators (students, post-docs, fellows, technicians, instructors and lecturers) by offering ample opportunities for networking, interacting with senior faculty and discussing mutual research and clinical interests. For more information and to register for Sporadic Neurodegeneration: Genes, Environment and Therapeutic Strategies, please visit our website at www.biosymposia.org, or call either 781-681-2352 or 1-888-854-0800. Description: BioNetwork 2007 at The Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel was a remarkable success with the help of exceptional speakers, relevant presentations, and great audience participation. Over 250 business development and licensing leaders from top pharmaceutical and biotech companies gathered to network and explore partnerships, as well as discuss the evolution of alliances in the industry. There were numerous opportunities to meet with potential partners, be it through BioNetwork's one-on-one meeting rooms, numerous receptions, or end of conference golf outing.

Preparations are already on the way for our 6th annual event taking place October 6-8, 2008 at The Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel, CA. Partnerships are vital to your company's success. Complementary resources - biotech's innovative products and pharma's deep pockets - have been the impetus for many strategic alliances. Yet the cold truth is that most of them fail - and for non-technological reasons. Culture clash, miscommunication, and poor strategic matches are often to blame. How will you avoid a similar fate with your next partner? BioNetwork 2008 will provide the knowledge you need to drive business success.
