Capital Formation and Emerging Companies
Statement of Purpose
The capital formation and the business needs of small to medium-size member companies are a high priority at BIO. To address these needs and concerns, the Board of Directors has established the Emerging Companies Section, a committee with its own governing body and approximately one-third of the seats on the Board of Directors. Its primary roles are
- To review the major public policy issues confronting the industry and make sure the BIO position reflects the interests of small and medium-sized companies
- To look for opportunities through legislation and regulatory reform to help emerging companies with core activities such as capital formation
- To recommend services and programs useful in supporting business development and financing requirements of small and medium-sized companies
Services provided by the ECS include (but are not limited to) a global range of investor and partnering conferences, executive education and training, and BIO BUSINESS SOLUTIONSsm, providing lower costs on products and services such as lab products, business insurance, employee benefits and office equipment and supplies.
