BIO's Letter of Support for the Intellectual Property Attaché Act

 Dear Chairman Smith and Ranking Member Conyers:

On behalf of the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), I am writing to express our support for the Intellectual Property Attaché Act, which you introduced along with Representatives Goodlatte, Watt, Issa, Berman, Coble, Chabot, Chaffetz and Schiff. We support your desire to improve the intellectual property attaché program and we look forward to working with you on this bill as it moves through the legislative process.

This legislation will promote a level playing field for American innovators in foreign countries by improving the intellectual property attaché program. We believe that this bipartisan bill will assist BIO member companies in their efforts to assert and protect their patents and other intellectual property rights overseas.
